"I can't seem to write a song that isn't about heartbreak," said InVadeRJ. The Scotland-based singer-songwriter's tracks are in a variety of genres, from 80s-inspired retrowave to acoustic pop with jazzy harmonies, but they all share a signature melancholic tone.
InVadeRJ's musical journey began when his mother taught him to play the piano and the recorder as a child. He joined several choirs during his time at school, solidifying his love for singing.
After experimenting with free music software, InVadeRJ began to write songs in 2021, releasing three the following year. Daydreaming was a collaborative effort with two of his producer friends, Feàrn and Harris Hall, who produced a track each. They would become core collaborators - working with him again on Star in 2023 and Bittersweet in 2024.
